How would you describe the work you do and why?:

I paint horses and dogs in acrylics, water soluble oils or soft pastel, mainly as commissions. I strive to capture the character and soul of the animal, particularly as many are beloved pets which have passed away. It is so rewarding to present the client with the finished work, which they can treasure forever. I also paint images of my local landscape, and am particularly drawn to the visual contrasts of light and shadow. The Herefordshire countryside is beautiful and varied, and I find inspiration in the way the landscape changes through the seasons. To me the atmosphere of a scene or view is as important as the image itself.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

The best thing to me about being an artist is having the freedom to express and interpret what I see in front of me, and transfer that onto canvas.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:
