In Safe Hands
I am exploring narrative themes common to all of us and attempting to express feeling through the language of visual art . I have worked in different media mostly three dimensional but recently decided to bring more colour and context to my work via printmaking. I like the various textures and the endless combinations that colour can lend to a composition , changing the mood and meaning. Every print in each edition is unique although pulled off the same plate and I often work on prints after the press with other media .
Being an artist gives me the means to express my experience of the world and what it means to be human. It is my way of being and what keeps me sane.
I am an artist who works in various media, currently focusing on printmaking.
I studied fine art foundation and graphics then wood carving and sculpture . I had a puppet and moving toy business . Worked in clay and papier mache and taught woodcarving , stone carving and printmaking .
I have lived abroad for the last 15 years.
