My work is fused glass which is the art of taking two or more pieces of glass and fusing them together to high temperatures in the kiln. I work with bright colours to create pieces which are cheerful and vibrant. I work with colour because I like to make pieces which themselves are 'stars of the show'. I like to experiment with textures, and often my work is sandblasted to create a matte finish, rather than the high gloss which is usual with glass work.
Being an artist means being able to express myself, particularly in colour. I like to take colours and create pieces which brighten and enhance mood, whether that is my own, or that of purchasers of my work
I am a glass artist, working in fused and slumped glass.
I create in my garden studio. Occasionally, I offer workshops for those wanting to try glass fusing, and/or those just starting out.
I began working with glass in 2012. I have attended lots of courses throughout the UK, and online courses with American glass artists in the USA. I am a member of The Herefordshire Guild of Craftsmen
I regularly exhibit with The Herefordshire Guild of Craftsmen. I also participate in Open Studios for two weeks of the year.
