Details
My work is mainly expressive abstract, both in 2D mixed media, often inks and resin in layers, and 3D ceramic form. I aim to create a snapshot of a view l am focussed on, until the piece takes on it's own identity.
For me, art is the communication of an emotion inspired by an idea . I aim to share my interpretation of this to the onlooker. My ceramic work is mainly folk style, and I also enjoy the detailed observation of occasional realistic portraits. I would describe my work as a conversation between myself and nature.
For me, being an artist means expressing my unique view of my environment in the moment and sharing that with the viewer. I tend to characterise animal forms and seek the personality of the creature l am modelling.
I am an artist working in 2D mixed media, building texture in layers, and 3D ceramics. I am inspired by the natural world around me and by the animals I meet on my daily dog walks. Birds always capture my imagination as they busy themselves throughout the seasons. One of my favourite birds is the pheasant, l love their distinctive colouring and their croaky sound as they flutter out of the undergrowth.
I create my art at home and am in the process of building my portfolio towards exhibitions.
