How would you describe the work you do and why?:

My abstract, intuitive paintings are heavily influenced by the Aboriginal Songline tradition. Songline’s, are believed to be the route travelled through the landscape in Dreamtime. Landmarks relate to memories and experiences and hold the stories of the people and spirits that inhabit them. My distinctive collection of bold paintings are representations of my own personal Songline’s as I explore the ethereal and elemental countryside around me.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

It is only when I am painting and creating that I feel that spark. That special sweet spot between the silence and before the action. Being an artist is like being on a constant quest for discovery, seeking clarity and insight into perception, thoughts , dreams and emotions.

For me, being an artist begins when you have the desperate need to express something, to communicate. Even if the person you’re speaking to is yourself. Being an artist means you reinterpret your experiences, into a reimagined form that can speak to others.

Being an artist is a continuous process, not a permanent trait. It's a transient state of being and craves constant reinforcement through the process of creation.

Given time and inclination, I believe, everyone is, can be, and perhaps will be—an artist.
